It is scary what kind of crazy war crime the Japanese army has committed during WWII. At least there are some decent people who will fight to have the truth to be told. I have no idea what "731" means, I certainly hope that it is not because there were 700s of these setup during the war!

China should demand formal apology from Japan NOW
China needs to demand apology from Japan to do justice to the millions of people who died during WWII to criminal Japanese soldiers and generals. The demand should be NOW because it has full abilities to make it happen with little or no negative consequences.
In the Oct 26, 2009 issue of Forturn magazine, its cover story was "CHINA Buys the World". It says "the Chinese have $2 trillion and are gong shopping". If it has so much money, why not "buy" some justice?
And justice may not really need to be "purchased". In the past, China had little ability to press for Japan to apologize because it needed its economic assistance. However, with its current economic might, it should flex its muscles and demand for an apology. And this does not need to make it into a winner vs looser scenario. If both China and Japan is willing to work on this constructive, both can end up being the winner and rip the benefit of closer collaboration and mutual growth. All long standing civilization and country have their "wrongful" past, the critical problem is that the Japanese (or a select portion that controls the Japanese government) has not come to admit their austrous past. They still display statues of war time criminal in public streets as national heroes. They continue to pay homeage in their shrine that includes convicted war criminals. They continues to systematically omit any mentioning of Japan's wrong in WWII, to the point that high school students would graduate and be completely ignorant of the real facts of history.
In order for Japan to have a harmonious relationship with its neighbor such as China, it must come forward to fully admit their past and educate their new generation of such fact. Teach them real history so that past mistakes are not repeated. Teach them how to live harmoniously with its neighbour. Then, a better trust and lasting relationship can be build between the countries. Thus, when done correctly, a press for apology can end up in a win-win situation where the end results is that the two nations will be able to collaborate with a trusted relationship to build on.
However, to get over the current hurdle of Japan continusly denying the austrocities that it has committed, China must pose a challenge to them to push them over the hump. Given that China has the economic power now, use it. As long as everyone understand that China can afford to "loose" if relationship with Japan goes sour, that it can afford to pay a price to demand for its justice, it could very well be enough thread to make the Japanese to reconsider their position and right what had been wrong all the time.
China should demand apology now. The end of "Asia's sick man" need to be firmly nullified.

Learn about japan's astrocities
Iris Chan's excellent book The Rape of Nanking: The Forgotten Holocaust of World War II . Available at Amazon and many book stores. The comments section also has a lot of good info and other point of view.
Boycott Japanese stores/goods NOW
Hello Everyone!
Here is an invitation/request to boycott japanese stores and their goods. Especially to Asian American.
Japanese committed a lot of atrocities in Asia before/during WWII. The Massacre of Nanking is a great example. All war is ugly. But to this date, many japanese still deny of their past atrocities. Assault to China and other Asian countries are not taught in high schools in Japan. They display statues of war crime criminals in public places as their national heroes. Thus, not only is this past crimes, but even to this date, they have not come clean about it. It is like Germany denied that the Holocaust happened. If we don't recognize the past, we cannot learn from the mistakes, and the future will always be clouded.
I am amazed by how many people shrug this as unimportant. They tend to say this is the past. However, the constant denying by japanese and their government goes on to this date. We must exert pressure for them to admit to their past, if only so that history can be reconciled and a new chapter of harmony can be opened for the future. This is especially for Chinese and Chinese-Americans. This was our past. We must make this known, and exert whatever actions we have available to document history as it happened. Stop shrugging this as the past, as it is still the very present. THINK ABOUT IT! ACT! Boycott japanese stores and their goods, use this as a way to pressure their people and their government to admit to their past atrocities!
ACT NOW!
